Thanks to the generosity of the community- our matches, our staff, and our supporters have been able to share some truly magical moments!

Big Brother and Little Brother at 2009 PicnicAnnual Picnic. We love summer! Warm weather, the bright sun, and the smell of hotdogs can only mean one thing- our Annual Picnic is here! Every summer we host a picnic for everyong involved in our program! Bigs and Littles, parents and siblings, Board Members and interns were all welcome to attend! This year we played kickball, raced down the slie, threw the frisbee , shot baskets and just laid in the grass with stmachs full- it was great! Thanks to everyone who made this event a success!

Rec Night. Painting pumpkins, playing kickball, going swimming, shooting hoops, eating pizza, sharing laughter- Rec Night was a success! In November, Eric Edwards of the Washtenaw County Recreation Center opened the doors of the facility exclusively for Bigs and Littles to come have fun. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to organize games, helps with crafts, and supervise the pool area!

Eastern Michigan University Football. With the help of Eastern's Athletic Department Staff, BBBS was able to invite all of our matches to attend an October game against the Akron Zips for free. Prior to the game, BBBS staff planned a tailgating party for Bigs, Littles and families. We ate pizza, sandwiches and chicken wings while we tossed around (or dodged) mini, green footballs! The height of the excitement came when all of the Littles were allowed to be a part of the Fan Tunnel before the start of the game!

School Drop-In Night. Thanks to the support of local businesses, BBBS received about $100 in gift certificates to support our Littles going back to school. Our staff had a great time bargain shopping for school supplies, trying to make the dollars stretch as far as possible. And on September 10th, we were able to invite all of our matches to pick out any items they needed for free! Littles were provided notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, highlighters, index cards, and much more! I think our excitement about this evening was outweighed only by the excitement of the parents. We hope everyone had a great time hanging out at our office and enjoying the new supplies!
